BISS has started project "Sociological analysis of factors facilitating and impeding development of Private Public partnership in Latvia" In the February 1st, 2010 BISS has started a project Sociological analysis of factors facilitating and impeding development of Private Public partnership in Latvia. Project is supported by the Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway within the framework of the EEA financial tool and the Government of Norway bilateral financial tool, as well as with the support of Latvia through the Society Integration Fund. The rights to implement the project BISS achieved in the competition of the NGO project program. The total costs of the project are EUR 38 923,03, requested grant amount is EUR 35 029,13. A project proposes to research context of public-private partnership (PPP) in Latvia which allows developing recommendation for policy makers to promote the further development of PPP. Since a single study has been conducted on this issue investigating economic and administrative premises of the introduction of public-private partnership, novelty of this study is the analysis of social aspects of the development of PPP. Wherewith the focus of the study is: (1) perception of PPP policy makers whether maturity of potential partners engage in PPP and accept new forms of economic activity is sufficient; (2) the in-depth analysis of successful and failure cases of PPP passed up to the date and (3) quantitative review of predispositions, values and level of maturity of entrepreneurs. The data will provide in-sight into perception of potential partners they will allow estimating at which point thinking of partners stands; as the result policy makers have necessary information for review of activities for support of PPP and make them more focused and targeted. |
